ShrinkIt is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what ShrinkIt does with your files, what limited data the app and its service providers collect, and the choices you have.
Your Files Stay on Your Device
ShrinkIt is a 100% offline compressor. Every photo, video, and PDF is compressed, resized, or converted entirely on your device. Your files are never uploaded to our servers or to any third party, and ShrinkIt does not read, transmit, or analyse their contents. Compressed files are saved to your gallery or to a folder you choose.
File Access & Permissions
ShrinkIt only accesses the files you pick through the Android system picker, share to the app, or place in a folder you select. It does not request broad storage access. The app may also ask for:
- Notifications — to show progress while a video or batch compresses in the background, to tell you when it is done, and to send occasional app updates and offers. You can turn notifications off at any time in Android settings.
- Folder access — only if you choose a custom save folder. You can revoke this by switching back to the default in Settings.
Photo Details (EXIF)
Photos can contain details such as the date taken, camera model, and location. By default ShrinkIt removes location from compressed photos. If you turn on Keep photo details, these details are copied into the compressed file on your device. They are never sent to us.
Data Stored on Your Device
ShrinkIt keeps a small amount of information locally so the app works as expected: your settings (theme, save folder, photo details preference), your Pro status, batch compression results, and your lifetime storage savings. This information stays on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Analytics & Crash Reporting
ShrinkIt uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to diagnose crashes. These tools collect anonymous usage events (such as which tool was used and whether a compression succeeded), app version and install source, and crash or error reports (device model, Android version, stack traces), tied to an anonymous per-install identifier — never your name, email, or the contents of your files. App Configuration & Notifications
ShrinkIt uses Firebase Remote Config to receive settings such as feature limits and ad frequency, and Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications. Cloud Messaging uses an anonymous device token; free users are subscribed to a general topic used for occasional offers. Neither service receives your files.
Purchases
ShrinkIt Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Google Play. ShrinkIt does not collect or store your payment information. Your Pro status is verified with Google Play and can be restored on any device signed in to the same Google account.
Advertising
The free version of ShrinkIt displays ads from Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address (for approximate location), and information about ads shown and your interactions with them, as described in Google's Privacy Policy. Where required (for example in the EEA and UK), ShrinkIt asks for your consent through Google's consent form before showing personalised ads. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device's Google settings. ShrinkIt Pro users see no ads.
Ratings & Updates
ShrinkIt uses Google Play's in-app review and in-app update features. These are handled by Google Play; ShrinkIt does not see your review or account details.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. The only data that leaves your device is the limited information described above, which goes to Google (Firebase, AdMob, and Google Play) to provide those services.
Your Choices
- Turn off notifications in Android settings.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device's Google settings.
- Uninstall ShrinkIt to remove all data it stores on your device.

Children's Privacy
ShrinkIt is a general-purpose utility application designed for image and document compression, resizing, and file optimization. The app is not specifically directed toward children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise children's use of mobile applications and online services.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page.
